I would like to send a letter of thanks to all those who have mentored me to help me become the person I am today. When I was young, I lacked any sense of need to achieve success in school and had a horrible sense of insecurity. Fortunately, great people like my teachers, family, and friends have helped me break through those issues and helped me become a better person. I am no longer afraid to be myself and that motivates me to do much better in school. I truly hope that every student at Costa receives the same mentoring as me, because it will truly benefit their future.
The answer to who I am is fairly way more simple to figure out than expected. I am a student, of Mira Costa high school, who constantly ponders on what he will be doing in five years. Many years ago, I, like many other students, had the luxury of many years to wait before worrying about the future. However, that cushion no longer exists, now it is time to go to college and figure out what to do in life. The process seems scary to me, but I am ready to embrace the challenges that college life will demand.
